Happy Thanksgiving!
Canadian Thanksgiving is always held on the second Monday in October.
This year, Thanksgiving is Monday, October 14 , 2013.
Americans celebrate Thanksgiving on the 4th Thursday of November.
Canadians began celebrating this holiday earlier than Americans.
To learn more about each, check out the links below.
Traditionally, North American families spend time together expressing
gratefulness and appreciation for the good things and people in their
lives. EATING TURKEY, stuffing (a.k.a. dressing), mashed potatoes,
cranberry sauce and gravy also usually plays a large part in the
holiday. YUM!
Does your family celebrate or participate in Thanksgiving? What do you do?
What are you thankful for?
Whom would you like to thank?
Our Start Up will be to write 5 W's and a response about Thanksgiving.
Who started it?
What is it about? What do people do on this day?
Where did it start?
When did it begin?
Why was it started/ created?
Response: Tell what you did (if anything) over the weekend in honour of Thanksgiving Day.
