Malala Yousafzai
They shot Malala, but they can't kill her dream.
14-year old Malala Yousafzai risked her life to champion education for girls in Pakistan. As she fights for survival, a victim of Taliban gunmen, let's help make her dream come true.
One part of Pakistan has started a successful incentive programme of paying families which send their girls regularly to school. But elsewhere, including in Malala's province, the government is dragging its feet.
In the glare of the media spotlight Pakistani President Zardari has spoken out strongly for Malala's cause. In days he'll meet UN Education Envoy Gordon Brown, and Brown has just committed to deliver Avaaz's call. So let's help make Malala's dream come true by calling on Zardari to fund a nation-wide version of the successful girls education program.
